Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

About

Based in Burke, Virginia, RTR Team 2421 was founded in Fall 2007 as a non-profit community robotics team compromised of home-schooled students. In Winter 2008, the team competed in its "Rookie" season. As the years have passed, students from local high schools--Lake Braddock Secondary (Burke), West Springfield High School (Springfield), and Robinson Secondary (Fairfax)--have also joined the team.

The 2017 team includes one home-schooler, eight students from West Springfield, and 16 students from Lake Braddock. Any student in grade 9-12 is eligible to become a member of our team and design, build, and program a robot to compete in FIRST competitions!

Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology, FIRST Robotics Competition is the ultimate "Sport for the Mind."  Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 20+ high school students are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program a robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. To learn more, please visit www.firstinspires.org.

RTR Team 2421 is registered in Virginia as a non-stock corporation with IRS tax exemption status.
